KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur Honors Released Rescue Personnel with Flowers and Promotions

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Gandapur welcomed 42 recently released Rescue 1122 personnel to the KP CM House, where he greeted them with a ceremonial shower of flower petals and praised their service. The personnel, including firefighters, drivers, medical technicians, and other essential workers, had been arrested during the D Chowk protest in Islamabad and were released from Attock Jail on Wednesday.

In a display of solidarity and gratitude, CM Gandapur, joined by MNA Faisal Amin Gandapur, personally met with the rescue personnel, acknowledging their role in the protests and pledging support for their welfare. The heartfelt reception, which included flowers and expressions of appreciation, was captured on film as a tribute to their resilience and commitment.

Director General of Rescue 1122 Muhammad Ayaz Khan spoke with Geo News about the Chief Minister’s announcements, including a one-step promotion for all released personnel and a month’s extra salary. Ayaz expressed his gratitude to CM Gandapur, noting that the chief minister’s gestures and words had greatly boosted the morale of the personnel.

“The Chief Minister has assured us of increased allowances and the extension of the retirement age from 50 to 60 years, a move that will positively impact the long-term benefits of our dedicated team members,” said Ayaz. He further highlighted that six members of the rescue team remain in custody, with efforts ongoing for their release.

The 42 personnel released were part of a larger group of 86 individuals arrested during the D Chowk protest, many of whom were detained due to their participation in supporting the rescue team’s cause. The CM’s response marks a significant acknowledgment of the critical work carried out by emergency personnel and promises increased institutional support for their well-being.

The protest and subsequent arrests drew significant attention to the needs and concerns of emergency personnel in KP, underscoring the demand for enhanced benefits and support for those serving in hazardous roles.

As KP aims to fortify its emergency services infrastructure, CM Gandapur’s actions and promises of financial and structural support signal a forward-looking approach to empowering frontline responders.
