Kurram: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has demanded the identification and extradition of those involved in the firing on Assistant Commissioner Saeed Manan during a critical peace jirga in Kurram district.
According to official sources, the firing incident was an attempt to disrupt the Grand Jirga in Kohat. Despite the attack, the jirga successfully convened, with both parties assuring the government of their full cooperation for peace restoration.
Peace Agreement Finalized
Under the newly finalized peace agreement, the parties and the peace committee have pledged to support the government in taking strict action against the miscreants involved in the attack.
Sources confirmed that the agreement requires both sides to deposit their weapons and demolish existing bunkers in the region.
Health Update on Assistant Commissioner
Assistant Commissioner Saeed Manan remains hospitalized but is reported to be out of danger. Three other officials were injured in the attack, one of whom succumbed to his injuries.
Government's Response
The KP government has vowed to ensure justice and maintain peace in the region. “The culprits will be held accountable, and peace must prevail,” an official remarked.
The successful conclusion of the Grand Jirga is being viewed as a positive step towards conflict resolution in Kurram.
