Liver Donor Muqaddas Khalil Dies After Alleged Failed Surgery at Gambat Hospital

Muqaddas Khalil, a student from Shujaabad, passed away following an alleged botched liver transplant at Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS). The young woman had donated part of her liver to her ailing father, Khalil Ahmed, who remains in critical condition.

Family Alleges Medical Negligence

According to Muqaddas’s family, they had brought Khalil Ahmed to GIMS Hospital in Gambat, renowned for liver transplants. Muqaddas bravely donated part of her liver to save her father. However, following the surgery, her condition deteriorated rapidly, and the hospital allegedly kept her death hidden for four days before returning her body in secrecy at night.

💬 "We were not informed of her condition for four days. The doctors performed a wrong operation. They took her body away at night without telling us anything!" – Muqaddas’s grieving family

🔹 Family demands an independent investigation into the hospital’s handling of the surgery
🔹 Calls for action against medical negligence to prevent future tragedies

Hospital’s Response

GIMS Hospital Director, Dr. Rahim Bakhsh Bhatti, responded, stating that complications can arise in liver transplant surgeries, leading to Muqaddas’s death. He assured that Khalil Ahmed’s treatment is ongoing and an investigation will be conducted into the incident.

Another Tragedy at GIMS: Child Dies Due to Alleged Negligence

In a second shocking incident, a young girl named Ruqayya succumbed to her injuries at GIMS Hospital after suffering severe burns in a fire.

The grieving family from Jacobabad alleged that:
🔹 No doctor or staff attended to the child despite her serious condition
🔹 Ruqayya died in agony due to hospital negligence

Women from Jacobabad protested against the hospital by giving doctors "bread and parathas", symbolizing their frustration over the lack of medical care.

💬 "We trusted GIMS because of its big name, but no doctors came to help our child!" – Ruqayya’s family

Call for Government Action

Following these two devastating incidents, families and citizens are demanding:
A transparent investigation into both deaths
Strict action against negligent doctors and hospital staff
Reforms in medical care at GIMS Hospital to prevent further tragedies
