Mashal Malik Urges Release of Yasin Malik, Warns of Possible Execution

Mashal Malik, wife of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, has called for the immediate release of her husband, currently imprisoned in India’s Tihar Jail, expressing fear that he could be hanged on January 28.

Speaking to traders at Bajaur Plaza in Raja Bazaar, Rawalpindi, Mashal Malik said, “Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir. I have come out not only for my husband but for millions of martyrs.

She emphasized that the Kashmir movement is not political, describing it as a “movement of sacrifice and humanity,” and stressed that Kashmiri struggles, alongside Palestinians, represent the battle between right and wrong.

Mashal Malik condemned the ongoing human rights abuses in Indian-administered Kashmir under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. She highlighted violations including the desecration of mosques, the harassment of women, the killing of civilians, and the disappearance of thousands of Kashmiris.

She further alleged that Yasin Malik has been held in solitary confinement for six and a half years, and that both his family and legal counsel are being denied visitation rights.

Silence gives strength to oppression. The idols of fear must be broken,” she said, calling on the international community to take notice of the ongoing atrocities in Kashmir.
