POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has strongly condemned the ongoing aggression against Iran, emphasizing that Tehran is defending not only its own sovereignty but also the cause of Palestine. He called for unity among Muslim nations in the face of external threats.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman visited the Iranian embassy in Islamabad, where he met with Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moqadam to express solidarity and denounce the attacks.
Addressing the ambassador, Fazlur Rehman said that Zionism and the European alliance historically occupied Palestine, leaving Palestinians to endure prolonged conflict and suffering. He warned that the second phase of conflict against Iran has been launched with support from Hamas, and that these attacks are being justified with baseless allegations.
“Iran is currently defending not only itself but also Palestine,” he stated. “The Islamic world must unite in mutual support. Instead of fighting among ourselves, the Muslim Ummah should confront Zionism. America is the enemy of humanity.”
The Iranian ambassador welcomed Fazlur Rehman’s visit, appreciating the role of him and JUI-F in strengthening Pak-Iran relations. “The victory in this war will be the victory of the Islamic world,” said Reza Amiri Moqadam, adding that the presence of Maulana Fazlur Rehman at the embassy was a source of satisfaction for Iran.
The visit underscores the political and religious leadership’s concern over regional conflicts and highlights Pakistan’s role in advocating Muslim unity and diplomatic support for Iran during the current crisis.
