POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has strongly criticized the current government's economic indicators, warning that the nation cannot be deceived by misleading figures. Speaking to the media in Charsadda, he emphasized that the country was not the private property of any individual, highlighting the sacrifices made in the name of Islam during the country’s creation.
“The people have sacrificed for the country, and it is only the scholars who have shown loyalty to the nation. What have the rulers and politicians done?” Maulana Fazl remarked, challenging the leadership to reflect on their actions.
Concerns Over Electoral Integrity
Maulana Fazlur Rehman also expressed his concern over the integrity of upcoming elections, likening the process to elections held under Hasina Wajid, which he described as based on lies and rigging. He warned against being misled by such elections, asserting that the nation should not be deceived by false narratives.
“We have been speaking to you with soft words and arguments until now,” he said, adding that the country deserves peace and progress based on truth and fairness.
Conspiracy Against Madrassas
The JUI-F leader took a strong stance on the global conspiracy against madrassas, claiming that international forces aimed to end these religious institutions. He argued that rather than weakening, madrassas are becoming stronger due to the very conspiracies orchestrated by the global establishment.
“Global conspiracies are being hatched against madrassas, but the more they are targeted, the stronger they become,” Maulana Fazl said, reinforcing his support for religious educational institutions.
Opposition to Constitutional Amendments
Maulana Fazlur Rehman also criticized the government’s proposed constitutional amendments, particularly the 26th Constitutional Amendment, which he warned would have been disastrous for the country. He stated that the government's draft posed a significant threat to parliamentary sovereignty and human rights by curbing the powers of the higher courts.
"The country cannot run without a strong government. You cannot fool the nation with economic indicators," he concluded.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman's Call for Strong Leadership
In his speech, Maulana Fazlur Rehman made it clear that Pakistan requires strong, principled leadership to navigate its political and economic challenges. He emphasized that any efforts to deceive the people through false economic data or controversial constitutional changes would be met with resistance from the public and political forces.
