POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah returned to Karachi from Islamabad after attending the Council of Common Interests (CCI) meeting, where key decisions regarding water distribution and provincial coordination were made. Upon arrival at Karachi airport, CM Shah addressed a welcoming ceremony, emphasizing the need for unity among the provinces and strongly asserting Pakistan’s stance against Indian aggression.
In his address, Murad Ali Shah stated, “Some people want to create divisions between the provinces and mislead the people, but we have foiled all their attempts. The unity among the provinces is strong, and no one can break it.”
During the CCI meeting, decisions were made regarding the construction of canals and the suspension of the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) certificate. “The decision on canals is clear. No canals will be constructed without the consent of all the provinces,” said Shah, expressing gratitude towards the Chief Ministers of the three other provinces for supporting Sindh's position.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s position on national security, Shah added, “Some forces are trying to create discord within the country, but they will not succeed. We are ready to defend our land, and Indian aggression will be met with a befitting response.”
The comments reflect a strong political stance aimed at maintaining harmony between the provinces while addressing the growing concerns over regional security and national unity.
