NADRA to Shut Down Pak ID Website, Mobile App to Replace It; 3 New Regional Offices to Be Established
Islamabad – The government has announced that NADRA's Pak ID website will be closed starting tomorrow, and a mobile application will replace it. The decision aims to streamline the process of accessing identity services and enhance user experience, particularly for Pakistanis living abroad who have faced difficulties using the website.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the closure and outlined plans to launch the NADRA mobile app, which will provide all services that were previously available on the website. In addition to the mobile app, three new regional offices will be established in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan. These regional centers are expected to begin operations by March 31, 2025.
Minister Naqvi also addressed concerns regarding fraudulent activities, stating that fake websites have been used by dishonest individuals to exploit citizens' personal data for illegal purposes. The Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is taking strict measures to counter these fraudulent elements and protect the public from identity theft.
The shift to a mobile-based system is part of broader efforts to improve digital access to government services while combating fraud and misuse of personal information. The new regional offices will further ensure that NADRA’s services are easily accessible to citizens across Pakistan and in key regions.
