Nationwide Rallies Held in Pakistan to Support Palestine, Condemn Israeli Attacks

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) organized nationwide protest rallies on Friday to express solidarity with Palestine and condemn Israeli and American aggression. Large crowds gathered in various cities, chanting slogans and carrying banners against the ongoing violence in Gaza.

Protests Across Major Cities

Following Friday prayers, peaceful demonstrations were held in Lahore, Vehari, Sadiqabad, Mirpurkhas, Thatta, and Lower Dir, among other cities.

  • In Lahore, a Palestine March was held from Masjid-e-Shuhada to the US Embassy, drawing thousands of participants.
  • In Sadiqabad, protesters gathered outside the Press Club, raising slogans in support of Palestine.
  • In Mirpurkhas and Thatta, rallies were organized, and special prayers were held outside mosques.
  • In Timergara (Lower Dir), Jamaat-e-Islami supporters marched in solidarity with Palestinians.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman’s Speech at Lahore Rally

Addressing the Palestine March in Lahore, JI chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman strongly condemned Israeli brutality, stating that:

  • More than 50,000 Palestinians have been martyred, and 90% of Gaza has been destroyed.
  • The Muslim world remains silent, despite having 8.8 million troops and 70% of global mineral resources.
  • Pakistan, being a nuclear power, should take a stronger stand against Israel.
  • American support for Israeli actions is fueling genocide in Palestine.
  • He accused former US President Donald Trump of supporting terrorism in Gaza.

Demand for Stronger Government Action

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman also criticized Pakistan’s leadership, questioning why Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi leaders have not issued a joint statement against Israel. He further demanded that political parties, including PML-N and PPP, take a clear stance against Israeli aggression.

He warned that if the government does not act, future protests may be held inside the US Embassy.

Public Sentiment and Call for Action

The protests reflect growing frustration among Pakistanis regarding the lack of strong action from Muslim-majority countries. The demonstrators called for:

  • Severing ties with Israel and the US over their role in the conflict.
  • A joint Muslim military response to stop Israeli attacks.
  • Government-backed economic boycotts of Israeli products.

With increasing casualties in Gaza, Jamaat-e-Islami has vowed to continue protests until stronger action is taken.
