Outgoing Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza held farewell meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, marking the conclusion of his distinguished military service.

At the Presidential Palace, President Zardari paid tribute to General Mirza’s professional skills and appreciated his dedicated service in safeguarding national defense. He also extended his best wishes for the general’s future endeavors.

Earlier, General Mirza met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House. The premier praised his professional excellence and lauded his contributions to the country and nation.

It is noteworthy that the post of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee has been abolished following the 27th Constitutional Amendment. General Mirza is set to retire on November 27, 2025, completing his fixed term of service. No successor will be nominated for the position after him, marking the end of an era in Pakistan’s military hierarchy.

The farewell meetings highlighted the general’s role in strengthening the armed forces and his legacy as a respected military leader.
