A contingent of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has arrived in Saudi Arabia to participate in the multinational aerial combat exercise Spears of Victory 2026, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.
According to the military’s media wing, the PAF contingent comprises F-16 Block-52 fighter aircraft along with dedicated air and ground crew. The contingent landed at King Abdulaziz Air Base in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The exercise features participation from air forces of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, France, Italy, Greece, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
ISPR stated that the exercise provides a comprehensive platform to enhance interoperability, operational synergy, mutual understanding and capacity building among the participating air forces. The training focuses on large force employment, night composite air operations, integrated intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), and operations in advanced electronic warfare environments.
Through its participation, the PAF aims to further strengthen cooperation with partner air forces and validate its operational preparedness in a contested, technology-driven battlespace.
The military said PAF fighter aircraft completed a non-stop flight from their home base in Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, demonstrating the air force’s long-range operational reach and expeditionary capabilities.
During the exercise, PAF pilots flying advanced F-16 Block-52 aircraft — equipped with modern avionics and beyond-visual-range combat capabilities — will operate alongside and against air crews from participating nations flying a wide variety of sophisticated combat aircraft.
ISPR added that PAF’s participation reflects Pakistan’s commitment to regional and international military cooperation and highlights the air force’s professional excellence and ability to operate effectively in complex and demanding operational environments alongside leading contemporary air forces.
In September, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement under which any attack on either country would be treated as an act of aggression against both.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia maintain longstanding ties rooted in strategic military cooperation, shared economic interests and religious bonds. Saudi Arabia has remained a key partner for Pakistan, providing economic assistance and energy support over the years.
