Pakistani Anchor and Marathon Runner Mona Khan Arrested in Athens, Embassy Seeks Consular Access

According to a spokesperson from the Foreign Office, the Pakistani embassy in Greece has promptly raised the issue with Greek authorities and has requested consular access to Mona Khan. The embassy is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her arrest and is in contact with Mona Khan's running coach, Malik Yousuf.

 

Coach Malik Yusuf disclosed that Mona Khan had arrived in Athens just two days ago to participate in a hiking event. However, she was unexpectedly detained and transferred to jail, with a court appearance scheduled for Monday.

 

In light of these developments, Coach Malik Yusuf has appealed to the Pakistani embassy in Greece for assistance in securing Mona Khan's release.
