PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Discusses Cricket Development & Security with Sindh Leadership

Federal Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi held key meetings with Sindh’s leadership, including Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Governor Kamran Tessori, and Sports Minister Muhammad Bux Mehar, focusing on cricket development, talent scouting, and security.

During his meeting with the Chief Minister, Naqvi discussed upgrading Niaz Stadium, Hyderabad, to bring international cricket back to the venue. Both agreed on launching a cricket talent hunt program in Sindh to scout young players from remote areas and cities.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah emphasized the need to include Sindh’s cricketers in the national team, while Naqvi assured that a structured talent program would be implemented.

In a separate meeting with Governor Kamran Tessori, discussions covered PSL promotion, cricket development, and security in the province. The governor praised law enforcement agencies for maintaining peace, adding that Pakistan Super League (PSL) will help discover new cricketing talent.

Sindh’s Sports Minister Muhammad Bux Mehar also met Naqvi and assured him of full support for the Champions Trophy 2025. He raised concerns about Sindh players being overlooked, to which Naqvi promised equal opportunities for young talent.

Additionally, Naqvi visited Rangers Headquarters, where Major General Muhammad Shamreez welcomed him. He laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and offered prayers, acknowledging the sacrifices of security forces in maintaining peace.

With these developments, cricket fans in Sindh can expect exciting opportunities for local players and improved infrastructure to support the sport’s growth.
