The Prevention of Electronic Crimes (Amendment) Act (PECA) 2025 has officially come into effect following the issuance of a gazette notification by the Law Ministry. Alongside this, the Digital Nation Bill 2025 has also been formally notified.
Presidential Approval
President Asif Ali Zardari signed both the PECA Amendment Bill and the Digital Nation Bill 2025, marking their transformation into enforceable laws.
Legislative Process
The amendment bill underwent a comprehensive legislative process, initially being passed by the National Assembly and subsequently by the Senate. Following parliamentary approval, the bill was sent to the President, whose signature completed the final step of the legal process.
