Pervez Khattak Blames PTI for Destroying His Reforms in KPK

Former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and ex-Federal Minister Pervez Khattak has criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accusing the party of dismantling the governance systems he had established in the province.

In an exclusive interview with SAMAA, Khattak expressed frustration over what he described as the destruction of his five years of hard work. He stated that PTI has failed to maintain the police reforms, healthcare system, and anti-corruption measures he introduced.

"I ask the PTI founder sitting in jail—why was my hard work wasted?" Khattak questioned. He also challenged those who previously credited PTI for development, urging them to showcase their achievements now, as the party still holds power in KPK.

Khattak further criticized the current state of governance, highlighting increased corruption, a lack of medicines in hospitals, and rising unemployment in the province.

Despite his criticism, he said he wants PTI to complete its five-year term, so people can judge their performance themselves.

Khattak, who played a key role in PTI’s rise in KPK, later parted ways with the party. His recent remarks indicate growing divisions within the province’s political landscape.
