PPP Azad Kashmir Meeting Rescheduled Again; New PM Nomination Expected Today

The venue and timing of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Azad Kashmir parliamentary party meeting have been changed for the fourth time, reflecting heightened political activity within the party.

According to party sources, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has called a meeting of the PPP parliamentary group this evening at Zardari House in Islamabad, where both Bilawal and Faryal Talpur will be present.

All PPP Azad Kashmir members of the Legislative Assembly have been instructed to ensure their attendance at the meeting. Sources suggest that the nomination of a new Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir could take place during the session.

Insiders reveal that the meeting will finalize the party’s strategy to remove the current AJK Prime Minister, Anwarul Haq, from office and to discuss the formation of a new government.

Meanwhile, Faryal Talpur has reportedly been holding important meetings to secure the necessary number of assembly members required for the nomination. Sources indicate that if the PPP succeeds in gaining the support of 27 members, the new prime minister will likely be announced today.

According to party insiders, Chaudhry Yasin, Latif Akbar, and Sardar Yaqoob are among the key contenders for the prime ministership.

The political situation in Azad Kashmir remains fluid, with ongoing discussions expected to shape the next phase of PPP’s leadership and governance strategy in the region.
