A local leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was injured in a shooting near the Sixth Road Flyover in the New Town police station area on Wednesday.
Initial investigations indicate that the incident stemmed from a longstanding family enmity. Two suspects riding on a motorcycle reportedly opened fire on Zarkhan, a PTI leader, hitting him with three bullets. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition, according to police.
The suspects fled the scene following the attack. In his initial statement to the police, Zarkhan confirmed that the shooting was a result of a family feud, which has previously led to multiple fatalities on both sides.
The police have stated that a case will be registered based on Zarkhan’s statement, and efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects. Authorities assured the public that further investigations are ongoing to bring the culprits to justice.
