The arrest of PTI member Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan, a representative in the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly, has stirred controversy and allegations. Dewan was apprehended by Lahore police following his participation in the Milad Conference organized by Minhaj Al-Quran. According to the PTI, Dewan is currently on bail in all cases and is not wanted for any other charges.

 

Saba Dewan, the wife of Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan, has claimed that her husband was effectively kidnapped. In her statement, she revealed that Dewan did not return home after the Milad Conference, and she was informed via a phone call that he had been arrested.

 

Saba Dewan emphasized that her husband is on bail for all ongoing cases, yet his current location remains unknown. "We are not going to panic," she stated, affirming the commitment of PTI supporters to stand by the party and its members during this turbulent time.

 

The arrest comes during a period of heightened activity and scrutiny around religious and political events, with Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan's participation in the Milad Conference adding to the attention. The PTI has asserted that Dewan’s arrest is unfounded and that he should not be facing legal action given his current bail status.
