PTI Seeks Permission for March 22 Rally at Minar-e-Pakistan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has once again applied for permission to hold a public rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 22, ahead of Pakistan Resolution Day (March 23).

The application was submitted by PTI Punjab Vice President Akmal Khan Bari to Deputy Commissioner Lahore, requesting the right to peaceful assembly at the historic venue.

Application Details & PTI’s Stance

The application emphasizes that:

  • PTI aims to hold a peaceful rally on March 22.
  • The rally is intended to promote the ideology of March 23 and commemorate the Pakistan Resolution.
  • Holding public gatherings is a fundamental right under the Constitution of Pakistan.
  • PTI, being the largest political party in the country, has the right to mobilize its supporters peacefully.

Previous Denial & Rally in Swabi

Earlier, PTI had applied for a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on February 8, but permission was not granted. As a result, the party shifted its gathering to Swabi on the same date.

It remains to be seen whether authorities will approve this new request, as PTI continues to push for its political activities despite restrictions.
