POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Expelled PTI leader and MNA Sher Afzal Marwat has once again lashed out at former PTI Information Secretary Rauf Hassan, accusing him of leaking party meeting details to media and the establishment.
Speaking on a private TV program, Marwat challenged his expulsion from PTI, stating that bringing him back means his earlier removals were "unjustified" and lacked transparency.
"Has the reason for my expulsion ever been revealed? Even now, no explanation has been given in the notification issued," he said.
Marwat’s Allegations Against Rauf Hassan
Sharpening his criticism of Rauf Hassan, Marwat claimed:
- Hassan sold PTI’s internal discussions to media persons and YouTubers.
- He provided sensitive information to the establishment.
- He was merely a "salaried employee" of the party, receiving Rs. 8 lakh per month.
- Over the past 1.5 years, Hassan allegedly pocketed Rs. 5 crore.
"Rauf Hassan Was Launched by External Forces"
Marwat further alleged that Rauf Hassan was "planted" in the party.
"I once felt sympathy for him when he was beaten up by eunuchs. But his position in PTI was never beyond that of a salaried employee," Marwat remarked.
Party Discipline & Internal Rift
Marwat stated that while he initially remained silent out of party discipline, the lack of transparency and repeated disrespect towards him made him speak out.
"I have been expelled multiple times and repeatedly humiliated. If discipline means silence, then it no longer exists. I will continue to respond to false accusations," he asserted.
PTI’s Internal Crisis Deepens
The infighting within PTI has intensified following the removal of Salman Akram Raja and criticism of party leadership by expelled members. Marwat’s latest remarks reflect the deepening cracks within PTI, raising concerns over the party’s internal stability.
What’s Next?
With growing internal divisions, PTI leadership may face further challenges in maintaining party unity. Whether Imran Khan intervenes in this rift remains to be seen.
