PTI Stages Solidarity Protest Outside Islamabad High Court Over Delayed Hearing of Imran Khan’s Case

Members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) gathered outside the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday to express solidarity with the judiciary and demand the immediate hearing of party chairman Imran Khan’s pending cases. The protest saw the presence of prominent leaders, including Aleema Khan, sister of Imran Khan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

In view of the large gathering, stringent security measures were implemented, with additional police, Frontier Corps personnel, armored vehicles, and prisoner vans deployed to maintain order.

Ali Amin Gandapur’s Defiant Message

Addressing the media, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur delivered a firm warning, saying if authorities plan to use force against PTI supporters, they are prepared to respond similarly. “If there is a plan to fire bullets against us, then we will also bring weapons next time,” he declared. He urged that security forces not be deployed against protesters, challenging opponents to bring their families and workers to test their bravery.

Gandapur criticized Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, alleging involvement in corrupt business practices and accusing her of associating with Indian leadership, including Narendra Modi. He highlighted his government’s achievements, including IMF-approved targets and freedom for political protests, distancing PTI from blame for any unrest.

Concerns Over Delay in Hearing Imran Khan’s Case

Barrister Gauhar Ali Khan, PTI chairman, and Aleema Khan voiced serious concerns over the repeated delays in the hearing of Imran Khan’s cases. Aleema questioned the judiciary’s stance, emphasizing the party’s commitment to rule of law and democracy, saying, “We fear no one but Allah.”

Barrister Saif, KP Information Advisor, described the judicial delays as tantamount to denial of justice and alleged that the cases are politically motivated to keep Imran Khan imprisoned. He warned of a massive protest planned if justice is further delayed.

Security Measures and Party Demands

Due to the protests, Islamabad High Court was heavily guarded. PTI leaders demanded that the case related to Imran Khan’s sentence in the £190 million case be heard urgently to ease the growing anxiety within the party.

The ongoing solidarity campaign coincides with several pending cases against PTI leadership, with the party eagerly awaiting court relief.
