PTI Stands Firm on Two Key Demands, Government Has Until January 30 for Negotiations: Shaukat Yousafzai
Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shaukat Yousafzai has reaffirmed the party’s firm stance on two critical demands for ongoing negotiations with the government. Speaking to the media, Yousafzai made it clear that PTI would not back down from its agenda and gave the government until January 30 to address the party’s demands.
“The two key demands are the immediate release of all arrested PTI workers and the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the incidents of May 9 and November 26. These are non-negotiable for us. The government must implement these points for talks to move forward,” Yousafzai stated.
He emphasized that the civil disobedience movement initiated by PTI founder Imran Khan is still active. While acknowledging that negotiations had started last month, he indicated that further discussions were contingent on the government’s response to PTI’s demands.
“While the government has taken action through its committee, if they do not show flexibility on our demands, the civil disobedience movement will continue,” Yousafzai added. He reiterated that PTI would formulate its own action plan for protests should the government fail to respond by the January 30 deadline.
The first round of talks between the government and PTI began last month, and the second round is scheduled for today. During these discussions, PTI is expected to formally present its demands to the government for consideration. The outcome of these talks could determine whether the ongoing civil disobedience movement is suspended or intensifies.
