Officials confirmed that additional wheat stocks would be released from government warehouses. The government has fixed the official wheat rate at Rs 2900 per maund to regulate the market and support consumers.
Cabinet Approval & Supply Status
The Punjab cabinet has approved the release of 1.2 million metric tons of wheat. According to the Director General (DG) Food Punjab, 1.2 million metric tons have already been sold, and further supplies will be issued soon to maintain market stability.
The decision comes amid efforts to ensure food security and prevent wheat shortages across Punjab. Authorities will continue monitoring supply and pricing to curb potential market disruptions.
