The Punjab Police have disclosed details of the items recovered during a raid on the residence of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Saad Rizvi, revealing the recovery of huge amounts of cash, gold jewelry, and foreign currency.
According to the official statement, police seized Pakistani currency worth Rs144.4 million, along with foreign currency from multiple countries, during the operation. The recovered foreign cash includes currencies from the United Kingdom, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, with a total value exceeding Rs2.5 million.
Interestingly, police also reported the recovery of Indian currency amounting to Rs50,000 from the TLP leader’s home.
In addition to cash and foreign currency, the authorities said gold worth more than Rs63.4 million, as well as precious watches, prize bonds, and other valuables, were also seized from the property.
The Punjab Police stated that the operation was carried out as part of an ongoing investigation into financial irregularities and undisclosed assets linked to the TLP leadership.
Officials added that further verification of the seized items and their origins is underway, while additional raids may be conducted based on leads obtained from this operation.
The recovery has sparked significant attention, given Saad Rizvi’s prominent role in religious and political activities across Punjab. Authorities have yet to confirm whether any formal charges will be filed following the seizure.
