Punjab to Undergo Largest Government Restructuring in History, Says Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the largest restructuring of ministries and departments ever undertaken in the province. The comprehensive plan aims to downsize redundant, unprofitable, and loss-making institutions, merge departments performing similar functions, and streamline operations to enhance efficiency and public service delivery.

The restructuring plan includes reducing the size of ministries to facilitate smoother execution of government affairs. By consolidating institutions with overlapping responsibilities, the provincial government expects to simplify processes, speed up service delivery, and significantly cut down on annual expenditure, resulting in savings of billions of rupees. This financial capacity will bolster Punjab’s economic stability and growth.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his successful diplomatic efforts, especially his recent visit to China, which has bolstered economic and developmental ties. She acknowledged the guidance of PML-N leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in steering the economy towards stability and progress. The completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects is set to be expedited, further accelerating the country’s development.

Maryam Nawaz highlighted the strong and unwavering relations between Pakistan and China, emphasizing their mutual commitment to regional peace, stability, and prosperity. She expressed optimism about the economic future, noting the positive trend in the reduction of prices for essential commodities such as flour and bread.

She affirmed that the PML-N government, under the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, is working tirelessly for the economic development and well-being of the people, and the restructuring in Punjab is a significant step towards achieving these goals.
