In a significant legal development today, April 28, 2026, a Lahore court has granted interim bail to the daughter and son-in-law of the Prime Minister in connection with an ongoing money laundering investigation. ⚖️ The court’s decision comes after the defense argued that the charges were politically motivated and that the accused were fully cooperating with the investigation. This relief allows the high-profile couple to avoid immediate arrest while the legal proceedings continue. As the case moves forward, all eyes remain on the Lahore judiciary to see how this high-stakes battle between the prosecution and the First Family unfolds in the coming weeks.

Relief for First Family: Lahore Court Grants Interim Bail to PM’s Daughter and Son-in-Law in Money Laundering Probe

A special court in Lahore has provided temporary legal relief to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s daughter, Rabia Imran, and her husband, Imran Yousaf, by granting them interim pre-arrest bail in a money laundering investigation.

Appearing in person on Tuesday, the couple secured protection from arrest by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) until May 7, contingent upon the submission of surety bonds. This development follows a separate legal win last week, where an accountability court suspended long-standing arrest warrants against the pair in the Saaf Pani Company case.

While the Prime Minister and several others have already been cleared in the Saaf Pani reference, Rabia and her husband are now moving to resolve their remaining legal hurdles. They are scheduled for a follow-up appearance on May 5, as they shift from being declared absconders back into the active judicial process.
