Reports have emerged of a rocket attack on the Jafar Express near the Nutal area of Naseerabad district, Balochistan. Fortunately, no casualties or damage were reported, and all passengers are safe.
According to police sources, unknown assailants fired multiple rockets at the Quetta-to-Peshawar-bound train late Wednesday evening. The rockets exploded near the tracks, causing loud detonations but missing the train itself.
Security officials said the attack occurred while the Jafar Express was passing through the Nutal area. After security forces retaliated, the attackers fled the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the train sustained no damage, and following a brief security assessment, it resumed its journey, leaving the borders of Balochistan and entering Sindh province safely.
Police and security forces have since launched a search operation in the surrounding area to trace those responsible for the attack.
Incidents targeting railway infrastructure and trains have been reported in parts of Balochistan in the past, often aimed at disrupting interprovincial transport routes. However, Wednesday’s attack marks another reminder of the continuing security challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in maintaining safe travel corridors across the region.
