Mirpurkhas: A 50-year-old salesman, identified as Salim Anwar, was shot dead by unknown gunmen while riding his motorcycle on Main Mirpurkhas-Sindri road near Dilbar Mehr police station. However, despite multiple distress calls from locals, police and rescue services failed to respond in time, resulting in his tragic death due to excessive bleeding and asphyxiation.

According to eyewitnesses, Salim Anwar remained alive for 30 minutes, wandering in distress, but rescue teams did not reach him. Eventually, police arrived an hour later, placing the body in a police mobile and shifting it to the hospital.

Robbery or Personal Enmity?

SHO Dilbar Mehr Sanjay Kumar stated that Salim Anwar was returning from Hangorno after sales work when he was shot dead. He confirmed that over Rs 11 lakh was looted, but Rs 1 lakh was found abandoned at the scene.
The victim’s brother-in-law, Ayaz Ajmeri, insisted it was a targeted robbery, revealing that Anwar had previously faced robbery attempts.

Public Reaction & Demands for Justice

Family Demands Arrests:

"The police have not yet caught the accused. They must be arrested immediately," said Ayaz Ajmeri.

Criticism Over Delayed Response:
Locals and family members have slammed 1122 rescue service and the police for their failure to act swiftly, raising concerns over Sindh’s law enforcement efficiency.
