Section 144 Imposed in Karachi, Hyderabad, and Chakwal Ahead of New Year

Section 144 has been imposed in Karachi, Hyderabad, and Chakwal to maintain law and order and ensure public safety on the occasion of the New Year.

In Karachi, authorities have banned pillion riding, carrying weapons, and displaying them in public to protect citizens and uphold peace during the festivities.

In Hyderabad, the Divisional Commissioner, acting on the recommendation of the DIG Police, has imposed a complete ban on fireworks, aerial firing, and display of weapons. The authorities have also issued instructions to register cases against violators and initiate legal action.

In Chakwal, Deputy Commissioner Sarah Hayat stated that Section 144 will remain in force until January 1. During this period, one-wheeling, riding motorcycles without silencers, fireworks, and aerial firing will be prohibited.

The administrations in all three cities have appealed to citizens to comply with the restrictions to ensure a safe and peaceful environment while celebrating the New Year.
