Shibli Faraz Files Contempt Petition Over Imran Khan’s Jail Meetings

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shibli Faraz has filed a contempt of court petition against authorities for not allowing him and other PTI leaders to meet Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.

The petition comes as PTI members, including Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan, express frustration over repeated denials despite the PTI founder personally submitting a visitor list.

Omar Ayub: Repeated Requests Ignored

Speaking on the matter, Omar Ayub stated that he has been visiting for over two and a half months but has not been allowed to meet Imran Khan.

He criticized the selective approach, highlighting that despite Khan listing authorized visitors, only a few individuals have been granted access.

Shibli Faraz: Why Only Some Allowed?

PTI Senator Shibli Faraz questioned why Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and KP Information Advisor Barrister Saif were permitted an extended meeting, while other senior PTI leaders continue to be barred.

"If Ali Amin Gandapur was allowed to meet him because he is a Chief Minister, then why is the rest of the party leadership being denied access?" Faraz asked.

Legal Battle Over Access to Imran Khan

The contempt petition challenges what PTI claims is a violation of court orders allowing legal and political meetings with Imran Khan. The Adiala Jail administration and relevant authorities are now expected to respond to the petition.

Political Tensions Continue

This development adds to the growing political tensions between PTI and the government, with PTI leaders repeatedly alleging unfair treatment, suppression of opposition, and lack of access to their detained leader.

With the legal battle intensifying, all eyes are on the courts to determine whether PTI leaders will finally be granted access to meet their party’s founder.
