Sindh CM Calls Conference on Accidents and Law & Order in Karachi

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has called for an urgent conference to address the growing concerns about accidents and law and order in Karachi. The meeting, set to be attended by political parties as well as senior police officials, aims to discuss strategies to address the alarming rise in traffic accidents and other safety-related issues in the city.

Focus on Dumper Accidents

Among the key issues to be discussed, political leaders and officials will focus on the increasing number of accidents involving dumpers and other heavy vehicles. MQM leader Farooq Sattar confirmed his party's participation, emphasizing that the conference will specifically address dumper-related incidents and the measures needed to prevent further accidents.

Political Party Participation

The conference will see a diverse group of participants, including members from MQM, ANP, and other political parties. Farooq Sattar, along with MQM leaders Ali Khorshidi and Taha Ahmed, will represent the party at the conference. Sources suggest that representatives from ANP and additional political factions are also expected to attend, marking a collective effort to find solutions to the city’s traffic and law and order challenges.

Recent Accidents and Public Concerns

Recent heavy traffic accidents in Karachi have resulted in several fatalities, drawing widespread public concern. Citizens have also resorted to extreme measures, including setting fire to water tankers and dumpers in response to the growing frustration with road safety.

New Traffic Regulations

In response to these incidents, the Sindh government has introduced a new regulation banning heavy vehicles from entering Karachi between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm. This move is aimed at reducing traffic-related accidents and improving overall road safety in the city.
