The Mirpur Special Bench of the Sindh High Court has ordered that the names of a suspended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and two Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) be added to the Exit Control List (ECL) in connection with the murder case of Dr. Shahnawaz Kanbhar, who was killed during a fake competition.
The hearing, presided over by Justice Adnan Karim Memon and Justice Amjad Ali Bohio, addressed a request for a judicial investigation into the incident, filed by lawyers Ali Puleh, Asghar Narejo, and others. The court has issued notices to the relatives of the deceased as well as the concerned parties regarding the request for a judicial investigation.
During a media interaction, lawyer Ali Puleh stated that the court is expected to gather information about the positions of the deceased's relatives and other involved parties on October 7, when the hearing is scheduled to resume.
The inclusion of the officials' names in the ECL is a significant step in ensuring that key individuals related to the case remain available for investigation and judicial proceedings. The court's decision underscores the seriousness of the allegations and the need for thorough scrutiny of the events surrounding Dr. Shahnawaz Kanbhar's tragic death.
As the case progresses, the Sindh High Court aims to ensure that justice is served and that all relevant parties are held accountable for their roles in this incident.
