POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
The Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party (STP) chief, Dr. Qadir Magsi, along with his son Sarwan Magsi and other STP leaders, addressed public gatherings in Radhan, Mehar, and KN Shah as part of their campaign against the construction of a canal from the Indus River and the auctioning of Sindh's lands for corporate farming.
Sindh's Struggle for Rights
Addressing a large crowd, Dr. Qadir Magsi emphasized the historical and cultural significance of the Indus River, which has sustained Sindh for thousands of years. "The Indus River is our breath, and now this lifeline is being threatened," he said.
He warned that Sindh's lands would be sold in the name of corporate farming, leading to the displacement of local communities. "Villages and ancestral lands will be occupied by corporations," he cautioned, urging the people of Sindh to rise against this conspiracy.
Criticism of Political Leadership
Dr. Magsi criticized political figures, including former President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, for failing to address the plight of Sindhis. "For the past 50 years, Sindh's resources have been consumed by bigwigs while the people are forced to live in misery," he remarked.
He highlighted widespread issues such as unemployment, corruption in job allocations, and the lack of essential services. "Hospitals have no medicine, schools are closed, and education is being neglected. Jobs are being sold for crores of rupees," he lamented.
Call for Political Awareness
Dr. Qadir Magsi emphasized the power of voting to bring about change. "Vote wisely because it can change the fate of the nation," he urged the public.
He called for unity and active participation in the campaign, stating, "People must come out of their homes and join this struggle. Sindh is our mother, and we must protect her."
Grand Reception and Support from STP Leaders
Dr. Magsi was given a warm reception from Radhan to Mehar and KN Shah. Several STP leaders, including Abdul Hamid Soomro, Dr. Ahmed Noonari, Qadir Chinno, Hot Khan Gadhi, Haider Shahani, Gulzar Soomro, and Dr. Somar Mangri, addressed the gatherings, echoing the need for collective action to safeguard Sindh's rights and resources.
