A suspected robber was lynched by a mob near Babu Chowk in Qaimkhani Colony, Karachi. According to Station House Officer (SHO) Rao Shabbir, the suspect, armed with a pistol, attempted to loot a citizen in the area.

The intended victim resisted the robbery attempt, and with the help of bystanders, managed to overpower the suspect. Enraged, the mob unleashed a brutal assault on the suspect, using blunt instruments, which resulted in his death on the spot, as confirmed by SHO Shabbir.

The body of the deceased was subsequently transported to Civil Hospital Karachi, where his identity remains unknown. Police recovered a pistol along with rounds from the scene of the incident.

This tragic event adds to the recent surge in street crime plaguing Karachi. Just days ago, a young man was gunned down by robbers in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, prompting calls for decisive action against criminals and an end to the politicization of law enforcement.

In a similar vein, two separate incidents occurred on Tuesday, where a 20-year-old man and a businessman fell victim to alleged robbers in Karachi's Korangi and Defence Housing Authority (DHA) areas, respectively. These incidents underscore the urgent need for comprehensive measures to address the escalating crime rates in the city.
