UAE Rules Out Use of Territory for Military Action Against Iran

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday made it clear that it will not allow its territory, airspace, or resources to be used for any military action against Iran, amid rising tensions in the region.

In a statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country reaffirmed that its land, air, and sea borders will not be available for attacks on Iran, nor will it provide logistical support for any military operations targeting the country.

The statement emphasized that adherence to international law and respect for state sovereignty are the most effective ways to manage the ongoing crisis.

The announcement comes as tensions escalate between the United States and Iran, following US President Donald Trump’s deployment of warships and modern aircraft near Iranian waters. Iran has warned that any military action, whether limited or severe, would be treated as an act of war, with immediate and severe retaliatory measures.

The UAE’s clarification is significant given the presence of the Al-Dhafra Air Base, one of the largest US military installations in the Gulf, located near Abu Dhabi. The base hosts thousands of US military personnel, prompting concerns over regional escalation.

The UAE’s position signals its intent to remain neutral in any potential conflict and underscores its commitment to regional stability while adhering to international law.
