A peaceful protest against controversial canal projects at Moroda-du Bypass took a violent turn as police and protesters clashed, leading to injuries and property damage. Four individuals, including a policeman, sustained injuries during a fierce exchange of gunfire between the two sides. The injured were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The unrest escalated when enraged protesters set fire to the house of Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, causing severe damage to the property. Following the incident, the atmosphere in the area remains tense, with shops and markets shut down as precautionary measures.

In an exclusive interview with Aaj News, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar expressed deep concern over the incident. He assured the public that an impartial investigation is underway and emphasized that no one will be allowed to exploit peaceful protests to spread unrest.

“My house has caught fire, and some people have been injured. I have directed authorities to take strict legal action against the accused. Law and order will be maintained at all costs,” the Minister said.

The incident highlights the growing tensions surrounding the controversial canal projects in Sindh and underscores the need for peaceful dialogue to resolve disputes.
