Warrant Issued for Judge Humayun Dilawar in Government Land Occupation Case

Special Judge Humayun Dilawar, who recently made headlines for sentencing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, is now facing arrest warrants issued by Special Judge Central 2 Islamabad, Humayun Dilawar. The warrants are related to an alleged case of government land occupation in Bannu.

According to police sources, arrest warrants have been issued not only for Judge Humayun Dilawar but also for his brother, father, and registrar. The anti-corruption department obtained these warrants, citing significant financial losses to the government amounting to crores of rupees.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s special assistant for anti-corruption, Mossadegh Abbasi, stated that an FIR has been filed against Judge Dilawar and his three brothers. Abbasi claimed that the accused illegally added government land to a housing society using fraudulent registration. Judge Humayun Dilawar is reportedly the chief executive of this housing society.

This case comes in the wake of Judge Dilawar’s recent involvement in the Tosha Khana case, where he sentenced Imran Khan to imprisonment and a fine on August 5, 2023. However, the Islamabad High Court later suspended Khan's sentence and ordered his release on bail.

The issuance of these arrest warrants highlights ongoing legal and political tensions in Pakistan, with significant implications for both Judge Dilawar and the broader legal community.
