Security forces killed 13 terrorists of the Indian-backed Fitna-ul-Kharij group during an operation in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Thursday.
According to the ISPR, the intelligence-based operation was launched after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the area. Security forces successfully targeted the militants’ hideout, killing 13 and recovering a cache of arms and ammunition.
The ISPR stated that the slain terrorists were involved in multiple terrorist activities, including the facilitation of the Daraban suicide bombing in December 2023. They were also linked to kidnappings and target killings of government officials and innocent civilians in the region.
A clearance operation is currently underway to ensure the elimination of any remaining terrorists in the area.
“The Pakistan Army is determined to uproot the scourge of terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said, reiterating its resolve to restore peace and stability in the region.
