A violent confrontation in the Shadi Pali area of Umerkot resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left five others seriously injured. The fight, which involved farm staff and members of the Murree community, was sparked by an ongoing dispute over agricultural water rights.
The victims, identified as Mehboob Murree and Wali Murree, tragically lost their lives in the altercation. The five injured individuals, including Ranu Shar, Wazir Shar, Umid Ali, Qaimuddin, and Akbar Murree, were rushed to the hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The police, who have gathered evidence from the scene, have initiated an investigation into the incident. However, as of now, a formal case has yet to be registered. Authorities are working to uncover the full details of the incident, while the injured remain in critical condition.
The clash highlights the tensions that often arise over agricultural water disputes in rural areas, where water distribution remains a contentious issue.
