Aleema Khan Questions Zardari and Nawaz in £190 Million Case, Defends Imran Khan

Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan, has raised serious allegations against former president Asif Ali Zardari and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, claiming they were involved in the controversial £190 million case, while Imran Khan faces unwarranted punishment.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Aleema Khan clarified that the money in question was not stolen or laundered, as confirmed by the UK's National Crime Agency (NCA). She alleged that the property tycoon involved had bribed Hassan Nawaz, the son of Nawaz Sharif, and questioned why Nawaz Sharif has not been held accountable.

"Zardari Facilitated, But Imran is Punished"

Aleema Khan alleged that Asif Zardari facilitated the return of the £190 million to Pakistan. “This was not stolen money. The property tycoon reached a settlement with the NCA, and the funds benefited Pakistan’s economy. Yet, Imran Khan is being punished for establishing an institution where the Seerat Nabawi (peace be upon him) is taught,” she said.

She further questioned the motives behind targeting Imran Khan, stating, “If Imran facilitated this, then Nawaz Sharif must also answer for his role in this case.”

"Imran Khan Is Ready to Face Cases"

Referring to the ongoing legal battles, Aleema Khan expressed confidence in Imran Khan’s ability to fight back. She added, “They want to sentence him unjustly, but the real culprits remain untouched. Once Imran Khan comes out, the truth will prevail.”

Case Update

The Accountability Court has postponed the verdict in the £190 million case for the third time, now rescheduling the decision for January 17, 2025.

The case revolves around allegations of financial impropriety and misuse of funds returned to Pakistan by the NCA after a settlement with the property tycoon.

Political Implications

This case continues to fuel political tensions in Pakistan, with PTI and Imran Khan’s family questioning the impartiality of the accountability process. The controversy has also sparked a wider debate on political accountability and the misuse of state institutions.

As the new court date approaches, the political landscape is likely to remain charged, with supporters of PTI rallying behind their leader.
