POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Tuesday directed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to summon an All Parties Conference (APC) to discuss the deteriorating law and order situation in the province.
The directive came after a meeting between Kundi and Bhutto-Zardari in Karachi, during which the KP Governor briefed the PPP leader on the current security challenges in the region.
According to a spokesperson from Bilawal House, Kundi also informed Bhutto-Zardari about what he described as the “unfair attitude” by the federal government, which he claimed has exacerbated the situation in KP.
Bilawal’s Reaction to VPN Shutdown and Internet Speed
In a separate matter, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also addressed the recent issues surrounding VPN shutdowns and the slow internet speed in the country. Speaking in Karachi, Bhutto-Zardari expressed his dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of the situation.
“We were not consulted regarding the shutdown of VPNs and the internet outages,” he said, adding that the decision-makers were not fully informed about the importance of VPN services. He also pointed out that the government had failed to take the opposition's suggestions into account.
Bhutto-Zardari criticized the government's claims of providing 4G service, calling them misleading as the actual internet speed continued to decline. “The internet speed is slowing down further, which contradicts the claims of providing fast 4G services,” he stated.
He also highlighted the role of China in Pakistan’s economic development, describing the Chinese as “our guests and friends” who aim to help steer Pakistan's economy toward prosperity.
The PPP Chairman also shared his views on the functioning of the judicial commission, remarking that he would raise concerns regarding the constitutional bench if he were part of the commission.
In conclusion, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari accused the government of backtracking on its promises made during legislative discussions, signaling growing frustration within the opposition.
