Blast Derails Jafar Express in Mastung, Injures Several Passengers

Several passengers were injured when the Jafar Express derailed after an explosion on the railway track in Mastung’s Dasht area on Monday.

According to railway officials, at least three bogies of the train derailed due to the blast. The passenger train, which was en route from Peshawar to Quetta, was struck as it passed through the Dasht region, causing chaos among travelers.

Levies officials confirmed that several passengers sustained injuries in the accident. Emergency services, including ambulances, were immediately dispatched to the site to transfer the injured to Quetta hospitals for medical treatment.

The explosion not only damaged the track but also raised concerns over railway safety in Balochistan, where trains have been targeted in the past.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the nature of the blast or who might be responsible, but security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.

The Jafar Express is one of the key train services linking Quetta with the rest of the country, and such incidents highlight the recurring security challenges in the province.
