A powerful explosion occurred on Saturday near Jabal Noor, along the Western Bypass in Quetta, killing one individual who was traveling in a vehicle, police officials confirmed.
According to preliminary reports, the blast targeted a vehicle on the roadside, resulting in the martyrdom of one person on the spot. The deceased’s body was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for identification and post-mortem examination.
Law enforcement agencies swiftly arrived at the scene and sealed off the entire area to secure evidence and prevent further incidents. Bomb disposal squads and forensic teams have also been dispatched to assess the nature and cause of the explosion.
As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. However, incidents of targeted violence have been recurring in the province, especially around Quetta, raising serious concerns about security lapses and the safety of civilians.
Police officials said, “We are investigating the motive behind the attack and whether the victim was specifically targeted.”
The blast has sparked fear among local residents, with calls for the government to enhance security measures along key transit routes and public spaces in the region.
