The Cabinet Committee on Petroleum has stated that the country’s oil and gas reserves are at a satisfactory level and that supply from both domestic production and import arrangements remains stable.
The committee convened under the chairmanship of Muhammad Aurangzeb to review the supply of petroleum products and discuss fluctuations in the global oil market. Officials briefed the committee that the delivery system of petroleum products across the country is functioning normally, with a significant quantity of petrol cargo already secured for March and April. Refineries are operating as usual, and the committee directed them to maintain production levels.
The briefing also highlighted ongoing efforts to monitor global and local price differences. The government is pursuing strategies to stabilize energy supply through government-to-government (G2G) agreements and by diversifying oil imports from multiple countries.
Finance Minister Aurangzeb instructed relevant institutions to closely monitor the situation, emphasizing that ensuring uninterrupted supply of petroleum products is the government’s top priority.
This announcement comes amid global energy market volatility, with the government reassuring citizens that both reserves and supply chains are secure, aiming to maintain stability for consumers and industries alike.
