Chairman of Local Zakat and Usher Committee Targeted and Killed in North Karachi

In a disturbing incident of targeted violence, Qazi Abdul Qayyum, Chairman of the Zakat and Usher Committee of Gulberg Town, was fatally shot in Anda Moh area of North Karachi. The assailants fired at Qayyum twice, resulting in his immediate death.

 

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqui, the perpetrators did not attempt to rob Qazi Abdul Qayyum, indicating that the motive behind the attack was deliberate targeting rather than theft.

 

The incident has prompted an immediate response from law enforcement agencies, who have shifted the deceased's body to Jinnah Hospital for postmortem examination. SSP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqui confirmed that the investigation is underway from multiple angles to ascertain the motive and apprehend the perpetrators.

 

Local residents and community leaders have expressed shock and grief over the targeted killing of Qazi Abdul Qayyum, emphasizing the need for enhanced security measures in Karachi to prevent such incidents in the future.
