Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zedong reaffirmed China’s support for Pakistan in its fight against terrorism during a high-level meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday.
In the meeting, the Chinese ambassador expressed condolences to the families affected by recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan and condemned all forms of terrorism, stating, “We stand firmly with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.”
The discussion focused on internal security, counter-terrorism cooperation, intelligence sharing, and combating cybercrimes. Ambassador Jiang emphasized China’s solidarity with the victims and reiterated the importance of Pak-China cooperation in security matters.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi briefed the ambassador on the organized nature of recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan and praised the timely and effective response of Pakistan’s security forces. He also highlighted measures taken to protect Chinese citizens and projects, underscoring that their security remains a top priority.
A special protection unit is being established to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals, with modern Chinese technology and equipment expected to further aid counter-terrorism operations. “The enemy cannot harm Pak-China friendship in any way,” Naqvi said.
Both officials reiterated their commitment to strengthening the Pak-China strategic partnership. Ambassador Jiang thanked Pakistan for the security arrangements, while Naqvi expressed gratitude for China’s consistent support.
The meeting underscores the deepening security and strategic cooperation between Pakistan and China, particularly in the wake of recent threats targeting Chinese nationals and projects in Balochistan.
