POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Thursday underscored that while citizens are free to protest and hold rallies, public roads cannot be blocked under the guise of freedom of expression.
Speaking to the media in Karachi, CM Shah emphasized that there are designated areas for protests and rallies, and holding demonstrations on main roads causing inconvenience to the public will not be permitted. “Everyone is allowed to protest and hold rallies, but no one will be allowed to block roads or disrupt public life under the pretext of freedom of expression,” he said.
Separately, while addressing the Kashmir Day rally, Murad Ali Shah reaffirmed Sindh’s solidarity with the Kashmiri people. He stated, “The people of Sindh stand with their Kashmiri brothers, and our struggle will continue until the freedom of Kashmir is achieved.”
The CM’s remarks come ahead of ongoing demonstrations and rallies across the country marking Kashmir Day, highlighting both public rights to protest and the provincial government’s focus on maintaining order.
