The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that by-elections for 13 National and Provincial Assembly seats will be held on November 23, the Commission confirmed on Wednesday.
An ECP spokesperson reminded all candidates to strictly adhere to the election code of conduct to ensure a transparent and orderly election process. According to the schedule, election campaigning will conclude on the night of November 21–22, after which no political activity, meetings, or rallies will be allowed.
The ECP highlighted that under the code of conduct, a 48-hour ban on political gatherings will be enforced immediately following polling. Violation of this regulation could result in up to two years in prison, a fine of Rs 100,000, or both.
Polling will take place in the following National Assembly constituencies:
- NA-129 Lahore
- NA-143 Sahiwal
- NA-185 DG Khan
- NA-18 Haripur
- NA-104 Faisalabad
- NA-96 Faisalabad
The Provincial Assembly constituencies include:
- PP-73 Sargodha
- PP-87 Mianwali
- PP-98 Faisalabad
- PP-115 Faisalabad
- PP-116 Faisalabad
- PP-203 Sahiwal
- PP-269 Muzaffargarh
The Election Commission stated that all arrangements have been finalized to conduct the by-elections peacefully and transparently. Security agencies have been assigned responsibilities to ensure smooth polling across all constituencies.
Voters and candidates alike are urged to respect the rules and regulations set by the ECP to maintain the integrity of the electoral process.
