POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Senator Faisal Vawda has issued a stern warning to the alleged May 9 terrorists hiding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), stating that the situation has reached a critical crossroads and there is no turning back. Speaking on the current political and legal circumstances, Vawda emphasized that all ongoing cases will be pursued to their logical conclusion.
In his statement, the senator clarified that family meetings are permitted under the constitution and law, and lawyers can meet in relation to the case. However, he criticized the use of these meetings as political platforms, warning that any political messaging under the guise of family or legal meetings will now be stopped.
Vawda reiterated that the so-called “inciting party” has led the country to a difficult situation and stated that those involved in the May 9 events hiding in KP should consider themselves warned. He also hinted that if the Chief Minister acts in haste, even minor political maneuvering could be curtailed under Governor’s rule.
The senator’s remarks underscore the government’s intent to strictly enforce legal measures against those involved in the May 9 incidents, sending a strong signal to political actors using judicial processes for messaging.
