Sindh CM Orders Suspension of 5 Officers After 3-Year-Old Dies in Karachi Manhole

On the instructions of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, five officers have been suspended following the death of a 3-year-old child who fell into a manhole at Nipa Chowrangi, Karachi.

A meeting chaired by the Chief Minister reviewed the incident and was attended by provincial ministers, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) officials, town administration, revenue, and police officers.

The Chief Minister expressed his deep sorrow over the child’s death and emphasized that strict action must be taken against those negligent, urging officials not to shift blame.

Following his directives, the Sindh Local Government Department suspended:

  • Imran Rajput, Senior Director Municipal Services, KMC
  • Rashid Fayyaz, Assistant Engineer, Town Municipal Corporation Gulshan-e-Iqbal
  • Waqar Ahmed, Executive Engineer, Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation
  • Aamir Ali Shah, Assistant Commissioner Gulshan-e-Iqbal
  • Salman Farsi, Mukhtiar Gulshan-e-Iqbal

The Chief Secretary Sindh has been instructed to ensure further action against the responsible officers today.
